BEHIND the SCENE OF SGM :D

The Student Movement School
Post-Reformation of 1998, as if the student movement was at the crossroad facing the so much forks. Student movement became a seasonal movement that continued to fluctuate with in less assertive. Meanwhile, the flow of globalization brings a lot of new trends to this country. In these circumstances, there are a lot of Indonesian student movements still walk in a conventional manner that have been much underestimated by public. Related to this issue, the Ministry of Public Policy Student Executive Universitas Brawijaya (KPEM UB) held the Student Movement School (SGM) to reinforce the student movement in accordance to the current condition of Indonesia. This activity was held on Saturday-Sunday (10-11/12) on the 3rd floor of B Building, UB’s School of Medicine.
The Chief Executive, Ganjar Prima Anggara said that SGM was an event to bring UB’s students to exchange ideas to redefine the format of the student movement in Indonesia today. "The ultimate goal is the revitalization of student movement in the hope of the role of student movement will return strong and significant in making positive changes in Indonesia," said Ganjar.
The participants were the representatives from every faculty of UB. There were four ideas that were focused on this activity, i.e., on politic and law, education, community development, and social entrepreneur. "The four ideas are discussed so that the vision is found to improve with the new paradigm of contemporary conditions," said UB Law School’s student of third semester. Present as the speaker were the Presidents of KM UGM, Lutfi Hamzah and Pras who were the observers of student movement, activist, and national writers.
The results of the conference which has been implemented and agreed to be set forth in the student declaration is the culmination of SGM conference. The reading of this declaration will be implemented in open area and attended by the participants from the members of SGM or not. Additionally, it will be written in a book of “Revitalization of Student Movement” which contains a collection of the best papers from participants who passed the SGM and the text of a conference that has been agreed by the participants along with a text of declaration. "This book will be deployed to various people, both students and non-students which can becomes the guideline of student movement as well as an addition insight for the readers," concluded Ganjar.
